As a QA specialist in the translation industry, you need a combination of linguistic, technical, and interpersonal skills.

- It is essential to have an excellent command of the source and target languages, as well as the subject matter and intended audience of the translation.
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking are also necessary to spot and correct any errors or issues.
- Additionally, one should be familiar with the tools and software used for translation and QA, such as CAT tools, QA tools, glossaries, style guides, and reference materials.
- Communication and collaboration skills are also important for working with translators, project managers, clients, and other QA specialists.
- Finally, time management and problem-solving skills are essential for handling deadlines, feedback, and revisions.

No single degree or certification will make you a qualified QA specialist in the translation industry, however, having a degree or diploma in translation, linguistics, or a related field can be beneficial in demonstrating language proficiency and knowledge of translation theory and practice.
